Self-care while traveling doesn’t have to be an afterthought!
I know the first thing on your mind is exploring or if you’re life me, eating all the dishes the country you’re visiting is known for! Cacio E Pepe anyone? While exploring, eating, and drinking tend to come first while traveling it doesn’t mean you should put your self-care routine while traveling on the back burner.
I have found that when I come back from a trip and try and get back into somewhat of a routine, it’s that much harder to do when I didn’t practice ANY of my morning or daily routines while on vacation.
My skin is dull, my jeans are a little tighter than usual, and my muscles are tight. I always hear, “You’re on vacation, who cares?!” When I’m traveling with friends or family and i start doing morning yoga stretches or a quick HIIT workout. This gal cares.
Today I’m sharing three easy things you can do to keep up with your self-care while traveling.
Sweat is honestly the holy grail of self-care. Sweat and water. Granted, I tend to do an average of 16,000- 24,000 steps a day while traveling(we are explorers and beach dwellers), but that doesn’t mean I’m sweating. It’s important to get your rate passed fat burn and into cardio at least 20 minutes a day while on vacation. It will always help keep your skin glowing! I bring my workout bands wherever we go so I can do a quick booty blast each morning! I also add in some planks, donkey kicks, and tricep dips. Trust my your skin and booty will thank you.

2.Take care of your skin!
Along with getting your sweat on, it’s important to also supplement with a skincare routine. It doesn’t have to be extreme while traveling. However, you can take a few extra minutes each morning to give your skin some love! My ride or die Burt’s Bees product while traveling or on the go are the facial cleansing towelettes! Such an easy way to cleanse your skin and I LOVE to use them post workout at the gym as well. I always bring a mask while traveling and my current fave is the Burt’s Bees detoxifying clay mask. I tend to do that as soon as we get to our Airbnb or Hotel to detox my skin after being on an 8 hour flight. Another must have is eye cream. The skin under our eyes is so delicate it is so important to keep it nice and hydrated.
3.Water, water, and more water!
This goes without saying, but I’m going to say it anyways: Drink a ton of water! And then drink some more! Drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day helps rid the body of skin and toxins. Increasing your water intake will do so much good in terms of keeping your skin radiant and glowing! I try to drink at least 2.5-3 liters a day while traveling. If I’m drinking alcohol I’ll have two glasses of water in between each drink as well.
I hope these tips help! Cheers to glowing skin!!!
