Is there anything worse than the Sunday scaries?
I think it’s safe to say we’ve all experienced the Sunday scaries by now am I right? If you’re unfamiliar with the term let me give you the low down on what exactly the Sunday scaries are and how to get rid of them!
It usually hits me around 8pm Sunday night.
That feeling of dread and anxiety for the week ahead. From there my mind pretty much snowballs into creating to do lists, stressing about what I didn’t get done this past weekend, and pretty much wanting to curl into a ball and forget about everything. I struggled with Sunday Scaries syndrome for months until I decided enough is enough. It was time to take back control of my emotions. While it hasn’t been the easiest and some Sunday’s the anxiety still sets in. However, I now have a better understanding of what I can do to ease my emotions.
Below I’ve included some helpful tips to take your Sunday back and start enjoy the last few hours of your weekend![df_divider_text title=”START YOUR DAY OFF RIGHT” title_align=”separator_align_center” el_width=”100″ style=”solid” accent_color=”#EEEEEE” padding=”20px 0″ position=”align_center” el_class=”” border_t_width=”2px”]
How I start my day off on Sunday makes all the difference when it comes to how I feel Sunday night. I usually try to sleep in a little later than usual but nothing too crazy. I try to make it a point to meditate each morning, but during the week my schedule can be pretty hectic. So I ALWAYS make sure to meditate Sunday mornings no matter what. After that I take my pups for a nice long walk and head back to make my morning smoothie. I’ve been hooked on moon juice brain dust lately and I swear it helps keep me focused! Make sure to stay hydrated throughout the day to help with any afternoon crashes that might pop up.
Especially if you had a few too many the night before 😉
My favorite time to read is in the morning so I try to sneak in some pages before I start my day. I’ve been hooked on Rise Sister Rise lately! If you haven’t read it head over to Amazon and order it. NOW. Get ready to unleash the wise, wild woman within!
Instead of attempting to get 100 things done on Sunday split up your errands between Saturday and Sunday. Besides, the Sunday grocery crowd is not one you want to be a part of.[df_divider_text title=”DON’T MAKE IT A NETFLIX BINGE DAY” title_align=”separator_align_center” el_width=”100″ style=”solid” accent_color=”#EEEEEE” padding=”20px 0″ position=”align_center” el_class=”” border_t_width=”2px”]
As tempting as it is to binge all day on your current Netflix obsession, you’re going to regret it once 8pm hits. Avoid the self pity and guilt trip and make your Sunday into a productive day.[df_divider_text title=”MAKE IT A SELF CARE SUNDAY ” title_align=”separator_align_center” el_width=”100″ style=”solid” accent_color=”#EEEEEE” padding=”20px 0″ position=”align_center” el_class=”” border_t_width=”2px”]
My Sundays are “Self Care Sunday’s” now instead of boozy brunch Sunday’s. Don’t get me wrong, every once in a while I am totally down for a bottomless brunch. It doesn’t have to be every weekend though. Use Sunday night to take care of yourself. Whether that means taking a bubble bath, painting your nails. or simply cozying up at home with a good book.
I’m obsessed with Fig + Yarrow bath kits! They come with everything you need to have a relaxing night it.
Not into having a bath? Cozy up on the couch with a good book and a relaxing diffuser blend. I’ve only recently starting using essential oils and I’m already hooked. They really do relax when I need it. I’ve linked some of my favorite blends from Vitruvi below as well! I don’t know about you but our apartment gets so hot in the summer here in LA. one A/C just isn’t enough! Our new Lasko fan has been a game changer. I even bought to put on my desk at home!
